RCL Controller
The RCL line uses the same RDC2 controller as its smaller air-cooled siblings. This streamlines the basic unit operation between the two units. In addition to the RDC2 controller, the RCL line uses a dedicated engine control module (ECM) to run the engine. This is required due to the increased complexity of the liquid-cooled unit compared to an air-cooled genset.
The RDC2 controller contains an LED display that can show diagnostics, the application version, and display unit faults. The controller also contains a digital voltage regulator, and manages the exerciser modes as well as the smart engine cool-down. The controller also contains a battery charger, which keeps the starting battery at the optimum state of charge so the genset is ready at any moment. The model in the controller is set to an ECM engine, and the ECM is responsible for engine speed control.
